Modsalon encourages every client to have fun with trying a variety of looks with their styles. Try some of these tips at home using Redken products. Ask your Mod Salon stylist to recommend the proper product for your desires!
Volume: Start by applying Label.m Volume Mousse Spray directly to the root. When round-brushing your hair dry, extend the brush up and over the section you are drying. This will lift the roots up from where they grow. For example, at the crown, take a section across the top of your head and brush it towards the mirror you are looking in!
The Mysterious “Cool” Button: Your blow dryer doesn’t just have a cool button to cool you off in the summer heat! It is there to SET whatever style you working at. The hot air manipulates the hair into shape (i.e.. volume, flick, underbevel), and the cool air sets it! Next time you dry, use your cool button to set your style and watch it last ALL DAY LONG!
Texture: Depending on your hair type (fine, thick, curly, frizzy, etc.) you will want to add a finishing styling product to create texture. Here are just a few options:
Very Short (i.e., mens): Rub Label.m Matte Paste between hands until warm. On dry hair, rub the paste like you are matting the hair with the palms of your hands, then piece out the tips with your fingers.
Fine Hair: Apply Label.m Mesh Styling in your hands and slowly bring your hands together, palm to palm, a few times to create fibrous webs, then apply to dry hair and watch how the fibres create deconstructed texture.
Long & Curly: For a “beachy” loose wave, scrunch Label.m Souffle into your towel dried hair and let dry. For a controlled curl, apply Label.m Curl Cream. This product contains an amazing curl complex that actually creates curl in your hair.
Limp & Lifeless: There is nothing more delightful than a Redken glaze colour to give your hair some volume, life and shine! You can also try Label.m Thickening Cream combined with Label.m Volume Foam before blowing dry to see your hair thicken up and create incredible volume! I call it Collagen for your hair!

Before you dry:
1 pump Relaxing Balm + 2 pumps Volume Foam
= soft volume
4 sprays of Protein Spray + 1 pump Soft Wax
= soft texture
1 golf ball size pump of Extra Strong Mousse + 1 pump Relaxing Balm
= thick, soft volume
2 pumps Relaxing Balm + 4 sprays of Blow Out Spray
= straight, frizz free locks
After you dry:
1 pump of Soft Wax + 2 fingerfuls of Mesh Styling
= soft controlled flicks
1 pump of Frizz Control Serum + 1 pump of Soft Wax
= straight, frizz free shine
1 pump of Frizz Control Serum + 2 pumps of Curl Cream
= soft, shiny controlled curls
