MOD Salon Inc. (“MOD Salon”, “we”, “us”) operates the hair salon at 2900 Pandosy Street, Unit 102, Kelowna, BC, and the website modsalon.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
When you use the contact form on our website, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic you select, and your message. Your message may include details such as the service you are interested in, your hair goals, your preferred stylist, and the days or times that suit you. Please do not include health or other sensitive information we do not need to respond to you.
If you contact us by email or phone, we collect the information you choose to share with us.
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. We use this information to keep the website secure and working properly.
Our products are available to purchase in the salon. This website does not offer online shopping, customer accounts, or public comments.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and appointment requests.
- To schedule, confirm, and follow up on appointments and services.
- To review career enquiries you send us.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies. Some are set by our hosting and security provider to protect the site from malicious traffic. These cookies do not identify you by name.
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how long visits last. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address and device details. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work as intended if you do.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted service providers to run our website and handle messages, including our web hosting provider and the email service that delivers contact form messages to our inbox. Our website also loads fonts from Google Fonts and displays a Google Map on our Contact page, which means Google receives your IP address when those pages load. If you follow our links to Instagram or Facebook, those platforms’ own privacy policies apply.
Some of these providers store or process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact form messages and related email records only as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain reasonable business records. We then delete them securely.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable security measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our website and email systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through the contact form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it, subject to legal or contractual limits. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by law.
